Performances are March 5, 6, 12,13,19 and 20 at the Old Crockett Theater in downtown Lawrenceburg.
Tickets are $10 each and will be available at the door. Thataway Jack, by John Rustan and Frank Semerano, is a comedy set in the Wild West of the 1800's.
First produced in 2000, Thataway Jack is the story of Peveral Sommerset Biddingwell, a city slicker banker who has left his home back East to move to the wild West to find his niave mail-order bride, Lucy, who has fallen in love with the West's most notorious outlaw, Derby Dan Turner, after reading about his dastardly deeds in a dime Western novel. Peveral is befriended by a crusty old prospector named Thataway Jack who, to ensure that Peveral both completes his quest and survives it, becomes his tutor and guardian angel.
Since Lucy has never met Derby Dan, Thataway Jack has Peveral masquerade as Derby Dan to win her back but Derby Dan shows up in town as does Fargo Callahan, the Rhyming Cowboy, who is out to get Derby Dan dead or alive. What ensues is a classic tale of mistaken identity. Throw into the mix Fargo's faithful Indian companion Talking Boar, hotel owners Ambrose and Eleanor Ravencroft, Uncle Ephram and the Murphy Twins and good time is guaranteed for all.
Cast members include Bob Augustin, Chad Franklin, Joey Riddle, Anne Scott, Dustin Robertson, Kevin Kilpatrick, Michael Bradley, Murphee Wright, Mike Story, Jared Garland and Tressie Scott. The play is directed by Kaye Luffman.
