We are truly one of the few local communities who offers a "Deal Closing Fund' for economic development projects. The fund consists of private money managed by the "21st Century Council of Lawrence County" a private arm of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. Highlights include:

Flexible funds used at the discretion of the Chamber of Commerce Executive Director

Used to close deals

Used when serious competition exists with another community

Grant money not required to be repaid unless job creation promises are not met by the company receiving the funds

Amount of granted funding depends on job projections, investment, and total wages
