Description: The 15th Annual Southeastern Law Enforcement Training Seminar (SELETS) is expecting some 400 criminal justice professionals to attend.
This year's theme is "Officer Survival-Train to Live".
The seminar will be headlined by Dr Henry Lee and Lt Col Joe Ruffini, USA RET, a nationally noted dynamic speaker on terrorism and threat assessment as well as community policy planning. In keeping with the theme, SELETS will present officers and their stories of being injured on the job and how their training helped them survive and how these incidents affected their office policies.
Investigator Connie Rowe of the 14th Judicial District of the District Attorney's Office in Jasper, AL will cover the many facets of investigating dangerous domestic violence cases that affect both law enforcement and the victims. Knoxville FBI SAC Rick Lambert will provide an update on "Terrorism & Threat Assessment" from the federal perspective. Steve Hewitt of the TN Department of Homeland Security will provide an update on the department's operations and discuss how "Cooperative Intelligence Equals Survival".
Monday, June 6 will offer two Range Courses: Range Day at the Lawrenceburg FOP Range that includes classroom training in the Crockett Theater. Colt Defense LLC will conduct a "Tactical Pistol Range" at the Lawrenceburg Police Department Range. All Ranges are Tennessee POST approved.
Registration fee is $89.00.
Law Enforcement Officers will receive needed POST hours and CEU from Columbia State Community College.
