LOCATION

Lawrence County is located in the Southern Middle Tennessee Valley. Only an hour away from Nashville, Tennessee, the music capital of the world, and approximately 30 miles from the Tennessee River in Florence, Alabama.  Lawrence County is in an ideal location. Other exciting areas such as Huntsville and Birmingham, Alabama along with Knoxville, Memphis, and Chattanooga, TN are within just a few hours driving distance. Excellent Interstates and major highways running throughout Tennessee allow for ease of travel to reach any destination you may desire.

Our region is full of wonderful places to shop & dine. Local cuisines include Southern,      Mexican, Chinese, and Japanese Steakhouse. Numerous fine dining options can be found 30 minutes away in Florence, Alabama or 1 hour away in Nashville or Huntsville, Alabama. Shopping abounds all over Lawrence County. Lawrence County is sometimes referred to as the Antique Capital of Tennessee. In addition to antiques, numerous clothing boutiques, discount stores, and retail shops are prevalent.

SPORTS & RECREATION

Lawrence County offers a wide array of outdoor activities whether it’s fishing, hunting, golf, or just a peaceful walk through our state park.

David Crockett State Park is located in Lawrenceburg and offers camping, hiking, swimming, walking trails, a museum, restaurant and a 40 acre lake for paddle boating and fishing. New to the park is beautiful two bredroom cabins nestled in the woods around the lake.


Laurel Hill Lake- 325 acre lake home to at least 10 species of freshwater fish. Camping and picnic areas provide a fun and relaxing atmosphere for family and friends.


VFW Lake- Although smaller in size, the 22 acre lake offers the same experiences and fun filled atmosphere as that of its brethren.


Shoal Creek- Shoal Creek is the destination for those looking for an exciting adventure as you canoe your way down the crystalline creek. Many stops along the way allow for swimming and picnicking while enjoying the beautiful Tennessee scenery.


• Three challenging but fun golf courses are located throughout the county. For those looking for championship style golf courses, many are located within 30-60 miles of Lawrence County.


Laurel Hill Wildlife Management Area is a 14,000 acre hunters' paradise. The area offers many wild game species such as: deer, turkey, hog, and quail.


• Not a hunter? Don't worry, you can come to enjoy the wonderful scenery of wildlife and the atmosphere of being in the wild.  We are located an hour's drive from Nashville's professional and collegiate athletics teams such as the Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, and the Vanderbilt Commodores.
